Legal help
Do you need help with a FEMA appeal or have legal issues caused by the disaster?
If you are low-income, you may be eligible for free legal help – including with your FEMA appeal. Call the LASO Wildfire Disaster Relief Program at 844-944-2428 for more information.
You may also call the OSB Lawyer Referral Service to see if you qualify for free legal assistance through the FEMA Wildfire response panel:
Your Right to Appeal a FEMA Decision If you have received a letter from FEMA saying that you are ineligible for disaster relief or that your application is incomplete, you have the right to appeal the decision within 60 days of receiving mailed notification.
We’ll ask you some questions to see if we can help you. Always answer honestly. If we can help, you’ll make an account.
Ask your non-criminal legal question. Remember, our volunteer lawyers can’t call you and can’t represent you in court. (If you already have a court date or other important legal deadline, we can’t promise you will have an answer before that day.)
We will e-mail you when your question receives a response. Come back to this web site and sign in to read the response. Do you still want to ask a question?
