How to:

Take pictures of your important documents. Keep all of your important documents in one, easily accessible spot. Also remember that documents are replaceable. Lives are not.

  • Passport
  • Credit cards
  • Insurance policies (all pages)
  • Leases
  • Deeds to your home
  • Mortgage documents (at least the first page)
  • Car loan documents
  • Birth certificates
  • Immigration documents (green cards, work permits, visa applications, etc.)

Disaster Distress Helpline:  Call (800)-985-5990 or text “TalkWithUs” to 66746 to connect with a trained crisis counselor.  This national, multilingual hotline provides immediate crisis counseling for people experiencing distress related to any natural or human-caused disaster.

Red Cross hotline:  1 800 RED CROSS ( 1-800-733-2767)

United Way: Call 2-1-1 and speak with a live, highly trained service professional in your area from any cell phone or landline. All calls are private and confidential.
